HiPP Dutch vs HiPP German – A Parent’s Guide
If you’re new to buying baby formula, you may be surprised at just how many different varieties there are out there, especially when it comes to organic baby formulas. They’re not all created equal!
If the HiPP formulas have caught your eye, you may have noticed they come in Dutch and German varieties. While you may think they’re basically the same, they’re really not! Some differences may sway your decision from one to the other.
We’re going to give you a glimpse of what makes HiPP formulas stand out from the pact as well as the differences between the Dutch and German varieties. When we’re done you can weigh your options and choose the one that’s right for your little one.
What are HiPP Baby Formulas?
HiPP baby formulas are certified organic and held to extremely high standards. All formulas go through rigorous testing that extends beyond what is legally required for European Union organic foods.
HiPP formulas are free from GMO ingredients as well as refined sugars and preservatives. You won’t find synthetic nutrients or gluten either. What you will find includes:
- Organic skim milk
- Organic whey
- Essential vitamins and minerals
- Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids
- Vegetable oils & SO MUCH MORE!
The only sugar found in HiPP infant milk formula is lactose, which is what is found naturally in breast milk. This is reassuring for parents because other suppliers often add glucose and other carbohydrates that aren’t good for babies.

HiPP Dutch 2 does not contain either of these. All of the other ingredients when comparing HiPP Dutch Stage 2 and HiPP German Stage 2 are the same. Stage two is made for babies over 6 months old and contains a higher concentration of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients for your growing baby.
